Italian pilot

SEED Future pilot course implemented in Italy

From 11 to 15 May 2026, Minerva APS delivered the Italian local pilot course of the SEED Future project in Forlì, Italy, engaging the foreseen 20 adult learners. This activity is part of Work Package 4 – Pilot Implementation and Evaluation, which includes one 5-day pilot in each partner country to test the SEED Future curriculum and Toolkit in real adult education settings before the final refinement phase.

A 5-day pilot based on the SEED Future Toolkit

The pilot course was designed to apply the SEED Future Toolkit in practice and support adult learners in three key areas:

  • environmental sustainability
  • digital literacy
  • gender equality

Through interactive sessions, group activities, guided discussions and practical exercises, participants explored how these three dimensions connect to everyday life, work and active participation in society. The Italian pilot also allowed the trained educators from the ToT phase to test the methodology locally and adapt it to the needs of adult learners in Forlì. The project plan foresees that each national pilot should engage up to 20 learners and generate direct feedback from both learners and educators, which will then feed into the comparative evaluation and refinement of the Toolkit.

Positive feedback from the 20 adult learners

Initial feedback collected from the 20 participants shows a strong level of satisfaction and confirms the relevance of the pilot approach:

  • 19 out of 20 learners declared themselves satisfied or very satisfied with the course overall
  • 17 out of 20 learners described the activities as interesting or very interesting
  • 16 out of 20 learners rated the course materials as useful or very useful
  • 16 out of 20 learners said they felt confident or very confident about applying what they learned after the course
  • 17 out of 20 learners considered the course useful or very useful for understanding environmental sustainability
  • 17 out of 20 learners considered it useful or very useful for understanding digital literacy
  • 15 out of 20 learners rated it very useful or useful for understanding gender equality

The feedback also shows that most participants felt included and comfortable during the learning process, which is particularly important for a course built around participation, inclusion and equal access to knowledge.

Why this pilot matters

The Italian pilot is a key step in moving SEED Future from curriculum development and educator training into direct implementation with adult learners. Together with the pilots in Estonia, Spain and Bulgaria, it will provide concrete evidence on the effectiveness, accessibility and transferability of the Toolkit in different national contexts. The project’s WP4 phase also includes immediate feedback collection, analysis and reporting, followed by a final refinement of the Toolkit later in 2026.
