Community Preparedness Highlighted During SEED Future Project Presentation in Pärnu, Estonia

On May 5, 2025, a community training titled "Together, Not Alone – Crisis Preparedness in the Community" took place at Nooruse Maja in Pärnu, Estonia. The event brought together 31 participants, including community leaders from Pärnumaa, representatives from local municipalities, the Police and Border Guard Board, the Rescue Board, and various other stakeholders.

The training was divided into three parts, with the third session focusing on the SEED Future project"Sustainable Educators: Empowering Adult Educators for a Greener, More Inclusive, and Digitally Fluent Future."

Helin Laane, representing the Estonian partner organization, introduced the project’s goals and activities, emphasizing its alignment with key EU strategies: the European Green Deal, the Digital Education Action Plan, and the Gender Equality Strategy 2020–2025.

Participants learned how the SEED Future project addresses three major societal challenges:

  • Environmental sustainability

  • Digital literacy

  • Gender equality

The project’s modular curriculum and training materials are being developed in collaboration with partners from Estonia, Spain, Italy, and Bulgaria. These resources aim to support adult educators in delivering high-quality education in these critical areas. Once finalized, the materials will be available on the Moodle platform, offering scalable, free-to-use content for educators across Europe.

The presentation sparked interest among local leaders, particularly in how such tools could be used to enhance community resilience and support adult education in times of crisis and transformation.
